British Wool
British Wool (formally the British Wool Marketing Board) is a farmer-owned cooperative established in 1950 representing approximately 30,000 UK wool producers; it collects, grades, and markets British fleece globally and provides shearing training and supply chain traceability services. A 2022 Defra review confirmed its role while recommending it evolve toward full independence as a modern cooperative.
