Fast Retailing
Fast Retailing is a Japanese apparel retail holding company operating UNIQLO, GU, and six other brands through a vertically integrated SPA model, making it one of the world's largest apparel groups by revenue. It is directly relevant to retail technology coverage for its $885M warehouse automation programme and full RFID garment-tagging since 2017. The group reported revenue of approximately ¥3.1 trillion in fiscal 2024, with UNIQLO International now accounting for more than half of total sales as the brand continues to expand across Asia, Europe, and North America. Its SPA model — integrating design, manufacturing, logistics, and retail under a single operational structure — gives it structural cost and speed advantages over wholesale-reliant competitors, and its automation investment is designed to sustain that advantage as distribution volumes scale.
